Elize Fourie-Hendry
Before she was an attorney, Elize was a registered nurse. She spent 13 years in an academic position at the University of Stellenbosch, focused on psychiatric and community nursing, teaching and working with people in some of the most difficult times of their lives.
Law came next, and it came through the hospital door: admitted as an attorney in 2000, she practised as a litigator in medical negligence matters at a leading Cape Town firm, where her clinical background met the courtroom. In 2004 she opened her own practice and turned her focus to divorce and family law.
In 2015 she moved to the Garden Route. Today she heads Fourie Hendry Attorneys in George, a firm where family law is the whole practice: divorce, customary marriages, children's matters, mediation and protection orders, with clients across South Africa and abroad.
Clients in a family crisis do not only need a litigator. They need someone who can sit with a person in distress, hear the story under the story, and then act on it with an attorney's precision. That is the practice Elize has built.
